Liposuction Surgery in Mumbai

Liposuction surgery cost in Mumbai ranges from Rs. 90,000 to Rs. 4,00,000.

Want to get rid of stubborn fat pockets that don’t go away even after a strict diet and regular exercise? If you are struggling with areas like the tummy, thighs, hips, arms, back, or under the chin, you can opt for safe and effective liposuction surgery in Mumbai at Designer Bodyz. This advanced fat removal procedure helps contour the body, eliminate unwanted fat deposits, and achieve a slimmer, more defined, and natural-looking shape.

Liposuction is a remarkable aesthetic surgical method that allows people to shed unwanted pounds that are resistant to diet and exercise. The procedure entails the breakdown of fat cells that grow in size and volume in isolated locations and sucking them out via vacuum suction. It focuses on the removal of excess subcutaneous fat lying in between the skin and the muscle layers. The most problematic areas that can be addressed by liposuction include the belly, buttocks, hips, arms, thighs, back, breasts, and under the chin. Liposuction cannot be considered for cellulite removal, as a weight loss surgery, or as an alternative to dieting. But, along with autologous fat transfer, it can help contour and mold one’s body to the desired shape.

One can get the benefits of liposuction surgery in Mumbai at Designer Bodyz, where the famous plastic surgeon performs this surgery and helps one to get the desired body shape.

Types of Liposuction Procedures

Tumescent Liposuction

In this common technique, a large volume of saline solution mixed with local anesthesia and medications to shrink blood vessels is injected into the fat layer. This solution makes the fat cells swell, making them easier to remove with a small suction tube (cannula). Because it is done under local anesthesia, blood loss, bruising, and post-surgery pain are reduced.

Dry Liposuction

This older method does not use any injected fluid before fat removal. Due to a higher risk of bleeding and bruising, it is rarely performed today.

Super-Wet Liposuction

A variation of the tumescent method, this technique uses less injected fluid. Anesthesia is still required. It offers good fat removal with controlled swelling.

Suction-Assisted Liposuction (SAL)

The traditional and most widely used technique. A hollow cannula is inserted under the skin and attached to a strong suction pump to break down and remove fat. It is effective for large areas.

Power-Assisted Liposuction (PAL)

In PAL, the cannula has a vibrating tip that enhances movement, helping remove fat more easily and with greater precision. It is safe, requires small incisions, and offers faster recovery.

Ultrasound-Assisted Liposuction (UAL)

This method uses a special cannula that emits ultrasonic energy to loosen and melt fat. The liquefied fat allows the surgeon to remove more volume, especially useful for dense or fibrous fat (common in male patients). It is often followed by suction-assisted liposuction. There is a small risk of heat-related burns or scarring.

VASER Liposuction

A modern ultrasound-based technique where fat cells are emulsified and then broken down using a VASER probe. Fat is removed without damaging surrounding tissues, nerves, or blood vessels, resulting in minimal bruising and faster recovery. Cost is generally comparable to traditional liposuction.

Laser-Assisted Liposuction (LAL)

Also known as laser-guided liposuction, this newer technology is less invasive, efficient, and less traumatic. After injecting tumescent fluid, a thin tube delivers laser heat to melt the fat. Although more expensive than manual techniques, it offers reduced discomfort and quicker recovery.

Causes of Liposuction

  • Surplus or unsightly fat deposits because of obesity which can’t seem to get rid of by lifestyle adjustments like daily exercise and proper diet.
  • Gynecomastia condition wherein males have abnormally enlarged breasts just like female boobs.
  • A combination of liposuction techniques with other plastic surgeries like a tummy tuck (abdominoplasty), breast reduction or augmentation, and facelift to achieve better-desired results.

Ideal Candidates For Liposuction

  • Healthy male or female with body weight lying within 30% of their optimum weight. Such individuals must not suffer from any medical condition or life-threatening ailments that delay or hamper the natural healing process post-surgery. They should have normal blood work.
  • People who have firm, elastic skin, no excess/loose skin, and adequate muscle tone.
  • Non-pregnant women as fetal development can get affected by stress on the body and drugs provided during the procedure.
  • Individuals who are above 18 years old and hold realistic expectations from the surgery.

Dr. Parag Telang, liposuction surgeon in Mumbai, discusses the post-surgical care recommendations with the patients who are undergoing Liposuction Surgery in Mumbai, which helps them achieve the best outcomes.

Procedure of Liposuction Surgery

Before commencing the surgery, Dr. Parag Telang, cosmetic surgeon in Mumbai, first cleans the targeted site and outlines the areas that must be treated by liposuction. Photographs are also clicked to be used as further references for before-after comparisons. Next, general anesthesia is provided to the candidate, or local anesthesia is recommended for the candidate by the anesthesiologist. As the patient lies numb on the operation table, the doctor makes small, inconspicuous incisions to insert a thin hollow tube called a cannula connected at one end by a syringe or a vacuum suction.

There are four methods to perform liposuction, the most popular one being the conventional method called tumescent liposuction. In this super-wet technique, first, the surgeon infuses a sterile solution containing saline (a diluent), lidocaine (a local numbing agent), and epinephrine (a blood vessel constrictor to reduce intraoperative blood loss) in the area of where fat is to be extracted to make suction of fat much easier. Next, a cannula is inserted through an incision and moves back and forth to dislodge the fat cells and further remove them by suction.

Another method is Ultrasound-assisted liposuction or VASER lipo wherein soundwaves are delivered under the skin to rupture the fat cell walls and liquefy the fat to be removed easily by suction. The third approach is Laser-assisted liposuction (or SmartLipo) which uses the thermal energy of lasers to melt the fat. One more type of liposuction technique is Power-assisted liposuction which involves the use of an external power source to move the cannula back and forth to get rid of the fat cells.
